WebGPU is the W3C-standardized successor to WebGL. Where WebGL was designed in 2011 around OpenGL ES, WebGPU maps directly to modern GPU APIs — Vulkan, Metal, Direct3D 12 — and exposes the full power of contemporary graphics hardware to the browser.

The result: compute shaders, advanced rendering pipelines, and GPU-accelerated physics — all running natively inside Chrome, Edge, or Safari. No plugin, no native executable, no compromise.
